Terms
Terms of service
The rules for using GigSyc as a partner or a Talent: accounts, shifts, pay, conduct and liability.
Last updated 5 October 2026.
01The service
GigSyc is a platform that connects businesses (partners) with verified workers (Talents) for short-term shifts in Rwanda. GigSyc provides the matching, verification, check-in, rating, invoicing and payout tools. The work itself is agreed between the partner and the Talent for each shift.
By creating an account you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you use GigSyc for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation.
02Accounts
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information. One person, one account.
- Talents must complete identity verification before working. GigSyc may refuse or withdraw verification.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- GigSyc may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why, and you may ask for a review at support@gigsyc.com.
03Shifts and crews
- A partner describes the shift honestly: venue, address, date, hours, role, pay and transport allowance. A confirmed shift is a commitment on both sides.
- A Talent who cannot make a confirmed shift must say so in the app as early as possible so a substitute can be found. Late withdrawals and no-shows lower reliability and may limit future shifts.
- Check-in is by the shift's QR code at the venue. Hours are recorded from check-in to check-out and approved by the partner or Captain.
- A Captain is a Talent the partner or GigSyc appoints to lead the crew on an event. Captains run check-in, close the shift and report on it.
- Partners rate Talents fairly and only on the work. Ratings and reports are visible to GigSyc and may be shown on profiles.
04Pay, fees and payouts
- Talent pay is the shift rate times approved hours plus the transport allowance, as shown on the shift before it is accepted.
- Partners pay GigSyc the shift cost plus GigSyc's service fee and the VAT due on that fee, as shown on the invoice and in the signed agreement.
- Approved earnings are credited to the Talent's GigSyc wallet and paid out to the Talent's chosen mobile money or bank account on the Talent's payout schedule. Payouts are made through XentriPay, a payment provider licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda.
- A wallet cannot go below zero. Errors are corrected by GigSyc with a note in the wallet history.
- Each party is responsible for its own taxes. GigSyc issues the documents the law requires.
05Conduct
- Treat each other with respect. Harassment, discrimination, violence, theft and dishonesty lead to removal from the platform.
- Do not arrange GigSyc shifts off the platform to avoid fees, and do not share another person's personal data outside the shift.
- Report problems through the app so GigSyc can act on them.
06Partners and Talents are independent
Talents work as independent contractors on the shifts they accept. GigSyc is not the employer of Talents and is not a party to the work performed on a shift, except as the platform that records, invoices and pays it. Partners remain responsible for a safe workplace, lawful instructions and compliance with Rwandan labour, health and safety rules on their premises.
07Liability
GigSyc provides the platform with care but cannot guarantee that every shift is filled or every Talent attends. GigSyc is not liable for indirect losses or lost profits. For any claim connected to the platform, GigSyc's liability is limited to the fees paid to GigSyc for the shift concerned in the preceding three months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Rwandan law.
08Closing an account
You can close your account at any time from Settings or by writing to support@gigsyc.com. Open shifts, unpaid invoices and pending payouts are settled first. Records are kept as described in the privacy policy.
09Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Disputes are first raised with support@gigsyc.com; if not resolved within 30 days, the competent courts of Kigali have jurisdiction.
10Changes
GigSyc may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to use GigSyc after that date means you accept the new terms.
